N.meningitidis colonies on blood agar. Colonies of Neisseria meningitidis are unpigmented and appear round, smooth, glistening, and convex (24 hours), with a clearly defined edge. After 48 hours colonies may become raised.
Cultivation 48 hours in an aerobic atmosphere enriched with 5% carbon dioxide, 37°C.
