stenotrophomonas maltophilia biochemical identification

Stenotrophomonas maltophilia biochemical identification with the NEFERMtest24 test system.
Although the tested strain practically doesn't utilise sugars (from lactose (LAC) to inositol (INO) the maltose test is positive. Typical of S. maltophilia is positive lysine decarboxylase test (with negative arginine and ornithine), positive beta-glucosidase test (about 60 % of strains is lactose positive) and aproximately 40 % of them can hydrolyse esculin (ESL).
